This is about as close to an endorsement as Jon Stewart could hope for, and could boost attendance at his Rally to Restore Sanity.

A pop-culture figure like Oprah is singlehandedly able to turn books into bestsellers, with people all over the world following her lifestyle advice. We'll see what impact the Oprah Effect has on Jon Stewart's upcoming gathering.

Disappointed

"We're looking for the people who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive, and terrible for your throat; who feel that the loudest voices shouldn't be the only ones that get heard; and who believe that the only time it's appropriate to draw a Hitler mustache on someone is when that person is actually Hitler. Or Charlie Chaplin in certain roles. " Jon StewartJon Stewart's rally is a response to Glenn Beck's rally.  Given that Stewart is well aware that no yelling, signs, or Hitler mustaches were present at Beck's rally, his statement reveals his motive, to further divide this country.I am saddened to see that Oprah shares his disdain for so many Americans that wish only to restore honor to our country.

'as close to an endorsement as Jon Stewart could hope for'So much for that. She has recently endorsed him properly on TV, both on her show and the Daily Show, and is attending herself. This could have a huge effect on the number of people who attend.
