The oh so reliable National Enquirer 'newspaper' is claiming today that Oprah Winfrey only has three years to live according to some 'medical experts' who have looked at her medical history.
These experts claim that if she doesn't have lifesaving surgery to remove her thyroid, she'll just keep eating and pililng on pounds to her 250 pound frame until she dies.
Without the surgery, it's unlikely that Oprah will ever be able to control her weight, and she could suffer a fatal heart attack or stroke, those experts warn.
Oprah has long struggled with her weight and has been yo-yo-ing up and down for years.
"Oprah is in a really bad place right now, and we're all very worried about her," a close family insider told The ENQUIRER.
"She's down on herself for all the weight she's gained, and even though she prides herself on being open and honest with her viewers, she's considered having thyroid surgery, but not telling anyone.
"She's not proud of being so secretive, but she can't face another round of strict dieting and rigorous exercise, and she fears surgery is the only way out!"
So, are we prepared to believe these medical 'experts'? My first thought is.. no.

In my opinion, many newspapers write a lot, only beacuse they want readers.
It´s hard to belive on them, you never know how serious the writer is

Well.... Thing 3 year thing may be blown out of proportion, but Oprah really needs to shed kilos for her heart!
It is a well documented fact that obesity is one of the major reasons for heart trouble..
So whatever the experts may say..
Oprah... get your jogging shoes on and hit the gym....
Cheers

They can at least say, if she doesnt do anything about her thyroid, her health will deteriorate and may not be good for her heart. Just calling out her death seems a little awkward.

Disheartening would be the word to describe a situation in which someone with Oprah's intelligence, capacity to get things done and access to the best advice in the world cannot get her nutritional act together.
I say that it is her pain that she has yet to experience again in a way that would heal her of the trauma.
So, her defense is to eat to counter-act the effects of the trauma percolating within her.

Yeah and her never-ending supply of money...

OK getting past it being a tabloid... the message it brings is that being overweight is unhealthy, which is not necessarily true in and by itself. Oprah is not morbidly obese, that it would fatally impact her. I know thin people who are dying.
I think we have better things to do than judge people for being pudgy.

Also hypothyroidism is what can cause weight gain. Hypo meaning deficient.
You want to speed up your thyroid to lose weight. Not remove it.

Well, if you read it in the Enquirer, then it must be true, right?

IF TRUE,my heart goes out to oprah, she has been a good example to women worldwide not only on her shows but also in her early career as an actress. She is one of the very few woman who has survived in a male dominated industry.I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO SEE HER RECOVER. A VERY TALENTED LADY WHO DESERVES TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT.GET WELL SOON OPRAH. and be at peace with your dilemma for life really is too short.Best and sincere wishes to a very talented woman.
