Oprah Moving On

Oprah Winfrey is exploring new grounds in her new show Oprah’s Next Chapter that is set to premier on Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), a new channel to be launched on January 1. Although Winfrey is likely to keep her tone and emphasis on telling every-day life stories, the daytime TV diva is leaving her studio and getting out there to travel the world. "I'm going to take viewers with me, going to take celebrities I want to interview with me," said Winfrey in an interview to Wall Street Journal.

Another innovation is moving Winfrey from her comfort-zone daytime slot to an hour-long evening show that might air as often as three nights per week.

In addition to Oprah Winfrey's new show, OWN's headliners will also include a show featuring singer Shania Twain and a competition series to be produced by Survivor creator Mark Burnett. The show called Visionaries: Inside the Creative Mind is rumoured to feature appearances by Lady Gaga and James Cameron. Another show with a work title of Oprah Winfrey Presents: Master Class is said to feature "masterclasses" from Jay-Z and Condoleezza Rice. There might be other shows involving Winfrey as well. "My name's going to show up on that grid a lot," she says.

The Oprah Winfrey Show has been running since 1986 will wrap up in 2011 when the show enters is 25th season.
