The 82nd Annual Academy Awards Oscars Ceremony Takes Place March 7th - What Time Do the Oscars Start?

The Oscars ceremony takes place on Sunday March 7th and the start time is 5pm PT or 8pm ET and your local ABC channel will be hosting the show. Check your local TV listings for the exact channel.

The coverage starts with the red carpet where viewers will get a chance to see all their favorite stars walk the carpet and viewers can see who their dates are, and most importantly what everyone is wearing.

After the red carpet the Oscar Ceremony will start and this year it seems to be anyones' guess as to who will win the Best Picture award, especially since there are 10 pictures up for Best Picture this year.

Also making things interesting this year is the battle for the Best Director award between James Cameron and his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow. James Cameron directed the blockbuster Avatar, while Kathryn Bigelow directed what some call 'the underdog', The Hurt Locker

The Oscar® Hosts - behind the scenes

The 82nd Academy Awards are being hosted by two hosts this year, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. With a show that can run up to four hours, the role of the host is very important and it is hoped that two entertainers will in fact be better than one.

For a full list of nominations, check the Academy Awards website, but who do you think is going to win at the Oscars this year? Will it be Avatar? Or Hurt Locker? Sandra Bullock? Morgan Freeman?

Check out the Oscars 2010 ceremony on Sunday March 7th starting at 5pm PT to find out.

I counted the age spots on Christopher Plummer and by my calculations he is 407 years old

Sarah Jessica Parker needs a comb.  And where did she get that wax statue of Mathew Broderick?  He has as much emotion as the real Mathew Broderick

OMG Sadam Hussein is in the audience!  No, wait, that's Antonio Banderas
