Some New Yorkers Won't Be Able to Watch the 2010 Academy Awards on TV. Is There an Official 2010 Oscars Livestream Online? Not Really, But There's Always the Red Carpet

This year, many New York movie fans are looking for a way to watch the Oscars via the internet as millions of Cablevision customers have been cut off from a local Disney-owned ABC station due to a fee dispute.

That has left some fans scrambling to find a way to watch the Oscars online. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any legal way to watch the 2010 Oscars online.

There are plenty of sites out there that will claim to have Oscars 2010 livestreaming, but be sure to proceed with extreme caution since they could be illegal feeds and or links to spyware/malware etc.

AP Offers 2010 Oscars Red Carpet Livestream

There is some good news, however. The Associated Press offers a free and legal livestream of the 2010 Oscar Red Carpet. You can access the AP's 2010 Oscar Red Carpet livestream.

Follow the 2010 Oscars on Twitter

For those who can't watch the Oscars online, there is always Twitter. The microblog site will offer instant results and plenty of catty commentary, which--let's face it-- is the best part of the watching the Oscars anyway.

Here is a NowPublic scan of the 2010 Oscars that tracks photos and commentary via Twitter.
