The Other Sci-Fi Channel

A guy was so annoyed by the Sci-Fi Channel's content, he made his own Sci-Fi channel. As reported to boingboing by Wil Wheaton (Yeah, yeah, the guy from Star Trek: The Next Generation):

"This guy really loves science fiction, and REALLY hates the Sci-Fi channel for not airing enough classic SciFi. So he found all sorts of shows online, and has created his own incredibly awesome repository of classic science fiction television show links. As far as I can tell, it's all legal, and there are hundreds of hours of programming to choose from."

When you want something done right, do it yourself. Right?

I've been very disappointed by the so-called SciFi Channel since its inception. Like many others, I believed that I'd be able to tune in and regularly catch repeats of classic shows, great classic movies, some SF oriented 'made-for' content (coverage of conventions, literature, authors, etc) and maybe some original movies or series, carefully chosen to insure the preservation of the genre and treat it in a positive, perhaps even marginally experimental, way.

What he did was create a site that points to streaming sources for old sci-fi flicks and series. I had a quick look (strictly for research purposes, you understand)- it's not a torrent or download site, and all links point to hosted streams. However, access is denied to viewers outside the US (which makes it useless to me), but the site creator is apparently cracking away at a workaround. Good thing, because it's a great idea.
