ownership = hell

First i need to say the commercial/copyright racket/scam is exactly that. My old friend had to hunt through a book manually to search for a non-trademarked name for his band. If you can 'own' a trademark phrase like "i love you!", there is at least one thing definitely Wrong with this world.

F___ trademarks. F___ copyright violation. (i have my own stuff copyrighted but if anyone 'stole' some material from them, i'd be honored.)

Youtube and it's 'copyright violation' obsession will eventually be its undoing.

Hollywood's obsession with copyright violation will eventually be its undoing.

Same for the music industry.

i will go so far as to say patenting DNA or attempting to patent a process found in nature will be that industry's undoing.

Our focus on greed and "mine mine mine!" will be our undoing.

You cannot truthfully own DNA or natural process. You cannot own an idea. You cannot own an expression. That goes for songs, movies, scripts, books,.. i think you get my point. Our bureaucratic obsession with owning things will be our undoing.

We need to learn how to Share.

.. i'm hoping 200 years from now we'll be more evolved: fat will be just as beautiful as skinny, 'ugly' will be beautiful if only for its humanity,.. i'm inclined to believe we won't use the word 'ugly' anymore .. i'm confident it will be meaningless. i'm also confident we won't be so damn obsessed with ownership and exclusiveness .. Our society has proved to me it's duplicitous to the core. We say one thing and do another. We say "this is mine!" but then insist yours is also mine .. We 'protect our turf' more for appearance and status quo than anything else .. i realize we need some things to 'hold on to' for a sense of stability .. But our exclusiveness and overwhelming sense of ownership will be our undoing unless we change course.

We need to let go, unclench our rabid grasp of things/people, unfocus, relax, find our centers, and refocus on Meaning. Embrace generosity/forgiveness/kindness/..

Get off the f______ computer, take a walk, hug your kid, stop punishing people for your own sins, relax, lighten up, stop being so damn judgmental,.. respect Love.

.. The seeds of destruction, of anything, lay dormant in its beginnings: the Roman Empire was eventually over-run by Christians, the Christian religion will eventually be undone by its own false premises, America by its own faulty structure (and obsession with ownership), and the human ego by its own infantile need for self-gratification. Everything will unravel of its own accord.

It may seem i'm cynical or negative with the statements above but in reality they're optimistic. The exclusive nature of our religions and social structures forces them to be obsolete at some point. The same goes for our egos .. i have faith we will wake up someday, smell the roses, realize they stink, and move on..

i have faith someday a fart will actually smell good: because it tells us we're healthy and alive. We won't scream at our kid for 'doing something wrong' because all forms of violence will be taboo .. And unconditional Love will be rampant and uncontrolled .. i wait for that day; it will come.
