Over 2,000 people could not help but dance to the hot and diverse music of the multi Grammy Award winning band Ozomatli who played for over an hour at the Lan Anh Club in HCMC’s District 10 on Wednesday night.

Minh, a 19 year old student, told the Daily that he could not help but dance from the first number. Joe and Chris from the U.S. said that though they were fans, they never had the chance to see the band live and that the Vietnam show was great.

The L.A.-based septet invited t’rung (traditional instrument similar to a xylophone) player Ho Nga to sit in so locals could hear harmonic counterpoint to the band’s Latin, hiphop and rock material.

The band also performed at the Thien An School for the Blind and the Youth Cultural House in HCMC. (the program was broadcasted on www.vnso.org.vn. who also broadcast live the event called "Symphony of a Thousand" in Hanoi next year)
