What it's like reading on my Palm Pilot. Text is more or less the same size as in a paperback book, you just have to scroll more. The backlight looks more dramatic here than it is; when I'm looking at it I don't get the sense that I'm reading off a screen. Then again, I've been reading from a Palm for, what, five years now? I could just be used to it.
The book is "Lunar Descent," by Allen Steele. The e-book is "Outrageous Fortune" by Tim Scott.

I've been reading off a palm pilot for quite sometime as well. I haven't had any eye problems or issues reading off that screen at all.
I actually find it quite convenient as the palm slips into my pocket so that I can basically read anywhere when I have some downtime.
I use a program called Cspotrun which actually has autoscroll so the text just rolls up the screen at the speed I normally read at making it the easiest reading experience ever.
