If estimates are to be believed, then on Friday, Paranormal Activity, a low-budget haunted house movie, beat Saw VI and topped the box office. Paranormal Activity grossed an estimated $7.5 million while Saw VI was close behind with $7 million. The Saw franchise has been a Halloween tradition these past five years. The studio even markets the movies with the tagline, "If it's Halloween it must be Saw." The movie's are this generation's Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Nightmare on Elm Street. Yet, it seems like audiences are ready to move on to something new. Which is interesting seeing as how Saw VI is the best reviewed of all the Saw sequels.
