Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Markham Ward 6 Councilor Dan Horchik came to Woodbine North Community Park today (Saturday, July 12, 2008) for the opening ceremony.  Construction of this park started several years ago.  About two years ago the park had some incomplete play equipment that many children used but the park remained officially closed because the contractor did not complete the work correctly.  Another contractor was eventually brought in to complete the park and it finally opened about a year ago.  The opening ceremony was today but there are still problems with the park.  Water still leaks from the base of two arches in the water park.  We reported this problem a couple weeks ago and an attempt was made to fix it.  However, instead of fixing the plumbing, they adding ugly, ineffective caulking around the base of the arches.  Also, some of the nuts are missing from the play equipment and it is starting to fall apart.

Sounds like a recreational disaster... do you have any photos of the park?
