Patrick Swayze, beloved apparition in Ghost and hip-swaying charmer in Dirty Dancing, says he is beating his battle against pancreatic cancer.
Daignosed in March 2008, the 56 year old actor has been battling the disease, and the media.
Says Swayze: "They're reporting that I'm on my last legs and saying goodbye to my tearful family! ... It's upsetting that the shoddy and reckless reporting from these publications cast a negative shadow on the positive and good fight I'm fighting."
Treatment appears to be going well as Mr. Swayze is set to star in "The Beast" set to air January 15, 2009. He will play FBI agent Charles Barker and is optimistic about his ongoing presence on the show.

I'm not sure if there is any winning with pancreatic cancer. I did some reading about it and it only presents like 2 percent of new cases of cancer but 6 percent of all cancer deaths. It's highly leathal. Out of 37,000 or so people 34,000 die. Only 4-5% live another five years.

It is unlikely, but he only needs to be the 5%. Hope can bring miracles.
