Legendary Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney played a live concert on July 17th in New York to the delight of all his fans, and the Citi Field concert was the first of three appearances that McCartney will make at the new stadium that will replace Shea Stadium.

Billy Joel also joined him on stage to sing a version of 'I Saw Her Standing There'.

On August 15, 1965, The Beatles played a 35 minute set at Shea Stadium and when they appeared one year later that appearance became their last and it was their last tour as a band.

McCartney performed traditional Beatles hits and also some tribute songs to John Lennon and George Harrison. He also dedicated 'My Love' to his late wife Linda McCartney.

I was at Fridays show and am also going Tuesday night.  I am a huge fan and never missed seeing him when he comes around the N.J./N.Y. area and try to go to every night.  This time the hassle of a couple trains to get to the show prevented me from going to all 3 nights but I am so looking forward to Tuesdays after seeing such a fabulous show Friday.  I was wondering whoever saw him on Saturday...was the set list EXACTLY the same and in the EXACT same order as Fridays show?  He usually does just that but just checking.....Also were there any surprises Saturday night like we had Friday night when Billy Joel came out?  Definitely expecting Ringo to show up Tuesday if he didn't on Saturday.  If there is anyone out there that does not have tickets for Tuesday night, GET THEM....If you don't you will be missing an amazing show!  See you there!  Can't wait!

McCartney rocks by far..........because of his influence I bought my first guitar at 8 years old in the 60's. However, Citi Field was  like a prison sentence. Our tickets showed a 6:30pm start so naturally we arrived alittle early due to the size of the crowd. It was to our horror that we found the show would not start until 9pm. We were held in this stadium for over 3 hours, that is absolutely ridiculous. Citi Field got the money they were after, the only thing to do was eat and drink. The food was great, the prices were medium to high, but the drink prices were out rageous. If they would have been a gas station, they would have been accused of gouging. I can't believe that Sir Paul does not value his fans time more than to think we could happily sit on bench seats for 3 hours just to wait until his performance. I did see a lot of much smarter fans showing up nearer to his start time, but how was I supposed to know?

Since I am taking my 7 year old son to see the show, can any one tell me when Paul went on stage on Saturday night as well as Friday night? Also, when did the shows end?

I was there Friday night and he went on at 9:00.  I think he went on at the same time Saturday night.  It was over around 11:30.  I am going Tuesday night as well.  There is a rumor going around Ringo will be joining him at some point on stage (I always figured that made sense).  I was lucky enough to see Billy Joel join him Friday night.  What a show!!!!  I'm sure you will LOVE the concert but taking a 7 year old to be up that late and hanging out in the thunder storms we are supposed to be getting......don't know about that!

I went Tuesday with my girlfriend. Already knew about the 9pm start. Still got there early to beat the crowd. The weather held up and the crowd was really into it from start to finish

The show was fantastic, Sir Paul has an amazing stage personality. The band rocked until 11:30pm. Unfortunately, no Ringo. Interesting that Paul had a tribute to Linda, John and George, but didn't even mention Ringo by name. I guess you have to be dead before he remembers how much he loves you. :)

Sorry I didn't get a chance to see it more than once.

If you get a chance to see him on this tour,I strongly recommend.
