"I think this year AMAA’s award is a reflection of the statement you’ve made. There are two sides of Nigerian movie industry today.

There are those that still see it as a commercial business, by selling empty CDs  with something on it, and then those of us that are film makers, but you have to understand that when you weigh it up, even in America or India there is A Film, B films C and D. 

It’s about you the consumers beginning to determine what to consume and that is happening in the market today. People  are actually going out there and looking at quality work and deciding which to choose.  Let’s take a look at the film that won the Best Indigenous Awards last year, Irapada by Kunle Afolayan. That film has travelled the world and it’s been accepted by almost all the festivals where it premiered."
