Pearl Jam - New Song (Late Show '09)

Pearl Jam has had a busy week. First, they announced that their new album. Backspacer, would be sold exclusively at Target stores. In addition, the band announced that they will film a commercial for Target, a pretty shocking move for a band that has prided itself and its anti-commercialism.

In addition, the band also appeared on Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show debut. The band performed their new song Get Some.

Earlier in the week, the band had performed another song The Fixers. The band performed another new song called "The Fixer" at a private show in Seattle. The performance was filmed for a Target commercial, directed by Cameron Crowe. The spot, no matter how earnest, will be something of a departure that has avoided appearing in commercials or having their music used in ads.

The change-of-heart was no dobut tied to Pearl Jam's new deal with Target. The store will be the exclusive retailer of the new album. Pearl Jam is also working on deals for an online retailer, a mobile partner, and other partnerships.
