Super star celebrity couple Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have a baby boy various news outlets are reporting - though the couple has yet to release an official statement.

Penelope Cruz reportedly gave birth to her baby boy in Los Angeles on Saturday, shortly after Javier Bardem received a best actor nomination for his role in the film Biutiful.

According to AFP, Cruz delivered their son Saturday at Beverly Hills' Cedars Sinai medical centre. The outlet reports that the actress' mother, sister and brother were there for the birth, as was Bardem's mother, who reportedly flew in from Madrid for the event.

The baby is the first child for Cruz, 36, and Bardem, 41, who wed in the Bahamas last July.
