Penelope Cruz & Javier Bardem welcome baby boy

They've been anxiously awaiting their first child's arrival, and it's being reported that Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are officially proud parents!

According to Spanish newspaper El Pais, the 36-year-old actress gave birth to her and Javier's baby on Tuesday (January 25) at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles,  California.

The Spanish magazine Hola was first to reveal that the couple welcomed a son, although a name hasn't been announced.

According to a report, Penelope and Bardem were surrounded by their family, including Cruz's mother Encarna and her sister and brother Monica and Eduardo.

Of course, details are still scarce, with Javier's mom Pilar Bardem telling press, "Have the parents said anything? Well then, I cannot say anything."

Miss Cruz was first outed as being pregnant after debuting a baby bump on the set of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" back in September.

Known to keep their personal lives as private as possible, the bundle of joy comes after the "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" co-star couple tied the knot during a secret ceremony in July 2010.
