Periods of Ancient Egypt by kamell

The Egyptian history includes about 170 pharaohs, Egyptologists have divided Ancient Egypt into three kingdoms: Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom, with intermediate periods in between them. The dynasties dates back to the third century BC, when Manetho, the High Priest of Heliopolis, defined the basic Egyptian chronology to 30 dynasties still in use up today. Ramses 2 ruled for long time, about 67 years during the 13th Century BC. He was a pharaoh of the Dynasty 19, from the New Kingdom. When the young Ramses came to the throne in 1300 years had already passed since the time of the Dynasty 4, the dynasty which is traditionally associated with the famous pyramids of Giza and Sphinx.
