With new developments arising every day, the fury of disturbing rumours surrounding Michael Jackson's unexpected passing will not die down any time soon. But despite all the negative publicity, the fans of Michael Jackson are organizing an online petition to nominate the late singer for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize. In the online petition addressed to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, fans say Jackson should be nominated for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize for his life-long message of compassion and kindness for humankind as well as his abundant charity work. They call Jackson a "humanitarian," who sought to "consistently spread a positive image of global unity, healing and love." So far, 3,885 people signed the petition. But the goal is to get 1,000,000 signatures.

Dear Norwegian Nobel Committee,

We the undersigned, would like to nominate legendary performing artist and global humanitarian Michael Jackson for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize. He was and will continue to be one of the most famous, and influential men on earth.

Michael’s message for humankind has always been rooted in compassion, and kindness. He has succeeded a lifelong dedication to the well being of humanity. Moving beyond all political, social, and economic borders Michael Jackson consistently spread a positive message of global unity, healing, and love.

Michael Jackson endlessly devoted his life to helping others in their darkest time of need. It would be nearly impossible to count the multiple hundreds of millions of dollars Michael has donated to charity
from his own finances, charity organizations, and also through his organizing of major fund raising events.
In 1984, Michael Jackson was severely burned while filming a commercial for the Pepsi Cola Company. Michael was awarded $1.5 million in the court settlement, which he donated to the Michael Jackson Burn Center.

The 1985 charity fund raising song ‘We Are The World’ was co-written and organized by Michael Jackson. The song was recorded in an effort to help aid famine-relief in Ethiopia. To date the song has generated over $60 million in relief aid for the charity.

The most impressive global contribution Michael Jackson has made to humanity was his 1992 creation of the Heal The World Foundation. Michael’s foundation is responsible for educating children about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, donating millions of dollars to poverty stricken children in need, and airlifting 46 tons of supplies to war torn Sarajevo.

In 1994, Michael Jackson pledged $120,000 from the Heal The World Foundation to pay the cost of a liver transplant for an abandoned Hungarian child by the name of Bela Farkas. This is the type of giving that led to Michael being listed under the entry “Most Charities Supported By A Pop Star” in the year 2000 Guiness Book of World Records. Michael Jackson also continued to contribute to charities for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina, and the victims families of the attacks on 9/11/01.

We the Undersigned, believe Michael Jackson has given of himself completely and selflessly in a lifelong effort to help better global conditions for children, and all of humankind. Please consider Michael Jackson whole heartedly as the nominee, and recipient for the distinguished honor of this most prestigious award.

Michael Jackson has undoubtably earned the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize.

The list of former Nobel Peace Prize recipients includes Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, Doctors Without Borders, Yitzhak Rabin, Yasser Arafat, Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Dalai Lama, and Mother Teresa.

Only Jealous, Ignorant haters like you would say that! You need to do some research of his contributions before speaking idi*tic piece of Sh*t!

Really?  Like whom?  Please state the names and the reasons why.  Better yet, please start your own petition nominating them, siting all of their endless amounts of contributions and how they promoted Peace in the world.

I'm sure you cannot answer and have nothing to add to this conversation but your bitter sinisism, the kind that made Michael Jackson's life hell and sent him to an early grave.

So thank you for your comment and please move on.

Michael Jackson touch so many lives from 1yr olds to 80yr olds. He fought to heal humanity, and wanted to make this world more peaceful.  In his honor I believe he is a perfect candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.  It’s the right thing to do, especially being that the media is using modern day crucifixion by  tearing  his character down, and not cover the humane things he did for those in need.

Hi Mrs ChizzJust to share this with you.I totally agreed with your statements. My daughter who are only 4 also impressed by him. After watching man in the mirror video, she used to sing the song and keep telling me she loves Michael very much because he was a good person,he gives food to the hungry children. I am surprised to see her loves him that much until now she still watch his video and listen to his songs, she told me that she loves Michael's every songs and she is going to buy many birthday presents for him when his birthday is coming......I think this is the power of love that Michael touched people's heart even we don't know him just through his videos and interviews. I do believe he is the perfect nominee for this Nobel Peace Prize.

Hello

i loved MJ's music.

But even without the other issues that would be raised, Michael does not merit this reward.

I nominated Judge Young, the Massachusett's Federal Judge that defied the power structure and came down on the side of absolute right in the bulger-flemmi murder case that the FBI tried to cover up.

All our real heros should be measured against that standard.

Respectfully,

U need to do your homework find the facts and stop listening to the main stream lying media.

MJ has done for this world with his contributions to 39 charities, creating 5 charities and is in the Guinness book of records for giving the most money to charities ever. Sony started that smear campaign because MJ bought 50% of the company so he would keep control over his music so he could give away the profits any way he wanted too.

MJ stated at one time if you listen to a lie aften enough you start to believe. The tabloids will do anything for money especially lie.

as for coverups the truth about Michael Jackson is NOW coming out, the kids lied just for the money. Don't believe me just type in Jordan Chadler for starters.

i love you forever MJ

Excuse me, But Michael Jackson WAS a hero. If anyone deserves this award it's MICHAEL JACKSON. All he wanted was to HEAL THE WORLD. He had the biggest heart and the most beautiful personality. He got treated like crap by everyone because of the molestation charges. The charges ruined his life. They were false. And the kid just recently admitted to lying. Heck, the kid was asked to describe MJ's penis. He said it was "discolored and circumsized" when it was not discolored and it was uncircumsized. What does this tell you? Not to mention, this is coming from the guy who donated billions of dollars to charity, visited hospitals more than often to see children with cancer and take pictures or sign autographs, he only wanted to heal the world. If anyone deserves this, its michael jackson. Not

Exceptional piece on michael's humanitarian achievements. I believe he used entertainment as his method to address social issues of our time, therefore; all the more worthy of being recognized as a canidate for the nobel peace prize because of his selflessness toward helping those whose voices cried out to be heard. And oh, did he hear them and some, he accomplished everything he said he would do. His legacy, music, talents will forever be remembered but more importantly his willingness to "look in the mirrow" and set the example for the world to follow.

I love MJ. He was the best man in the entire world.

Michael is an Angel

I respect Michael because he, above all else , showed his love for ALL mankind, no matter their color. He wanted peace and happiness for all.  Thank you Michael for all that you did. Rest in peace in your angel wings. You will never be forgotten and will be loved forever

your music will always be remembered mj

Michael Jackson will forever be remembered as king of pop and a great humanitarian. I can remember being very young and seeing my older sister doing the moonwalk and since then i have been a fan of MJ. You know that an artist is great when he as hits after hits and you know that someone has a good soul when they not only speak about making the world a better place but they put their words to action and Michael Jackson did it all and some.I nominate MJ for this award because he is truely a hero and he as touched the hearts of many through his songs because i really believe that there isn't a person out there who would listen to the lyrics of "man in the mirror"and don't feel like making themself better and on top of that he brought people from all different races and culture together.

My earliest memory of Michael Jackson was when I was four or five, and saw the video for "will you be there" at the end of "Free Willy" since then, I've loved his music, it wasn't until recently, however, that I realised how wonderful of a human being he was. I nominate Michael Jackson for this award, because I think that out of all of us, he deserves it the most, he helped millions - if not billions -  of people, through his charitys, through his music, through himself. He created a place for children to go and have the childhood he never had, he spent a year searching for a liver - or something, I'm not sure what exactly - to save a kid's life, and he brought millions of people together, so yes, he deserves this Award in my opinion...love y'MJ.

It is a fact, as per The Guiness Book of World Records, that Michael Jackson made more $ charitable contributions than any other artist/parformer in history. Not to mention he danced & sang his words of compassion, astoundingly. Meanwhile, throughout his career, he visited countless children in hospitals & orphages, raiseed millions to fight famine in Africa, visited our Veterans & so much more. Peoples need to free their hypocracy and doubts by facing the facts about looming allegations. Meanwhile, our government need honor it's own justice system regarding this issue. Also, how he died does not change all he did and what he stood for and this should not mar his this nomination. Michael, true humanitarian, deserves respect.  May his integrity be uplifted and his spirit enlightened . . . . . . .

Interesting Petition. I think it should be taken into consideration.

His impact was and still is remarkable and with Songs and videos such as "they do not care about us" or his environment Videos he certainly made a greater impact then the UN or David Suzuki could. Even Al Gore would like to have MJ his power to move people and get a message across. Maybe they should have teamed up and should have been less arrogant or snobbish and their message would have been heard sooner.

I think MJ should be considered for the Noble Peace Prize and this seriously.
