October 11, Manila, Philippines - More than 1000 volunteers from 30 organizations got their hands dirty in participation to Hands On Manila's Servathon 2008.
From public schools to indigent communities around Metro Manila, the participants offered half their day for these sectors in the name of service and volunteerism--with various activities including tree planting, mural painting, home building, and community clean ups.
The event culminated at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Philippines, where corporate volunteers and sponsors were honored for their utmost participation. Celebrity volunteer, Marc Nelson, hosted the lunch engagement.
This year's Servathon 2008 chairperson, Gina Roxas, was elated with the growing number of organizations participating in the event.
