Philippines - Solon’s bill imposes fine on owners of sex videos

Manila, Philippines - Finally a solution to the proliferation of bootleg x-rated amateur videos. Apallingly, there have been a reported increase of video-taped gang rape cases involving teenagers--posted on online video hosting sites or sold in the black market.
A party-list lawmaker has filed a bill seeking to penalize people who “knowingly possess” video recordings of “private acts, including, but not limited to, sexual acts.”
Buhay Rep. Irwin Tieng’s House Bill 4315, that also covers those who replay such clips or share these with others, imposes on violators a penalty of up to six years imprisonment and a fine that could reach P500,000.
“Lately, a number of obscene sexual acts or other pornographic materials have been exhibited and shown over the Internet and even shared [through] other electronic gadgets like mobile phones, much to the humiliation of the victims,” Tieng said in the bill’s explanatory note.

wow... so is porn already banned there and this is an additional provision? or is this the beginnings of the ban?
though I feel for the victims, a blanket ban on porn will only drive it underground and make it worse... this is what history would say anyway.

the bill MUST be approved immediately... what else does the government need? those "NO-GOOD NYMPHOMANIACS" need to be punished! six months imprisonment isn't enough--- better if it's a maximum of one year with no "pyansa" at all! they degraded the woman and the dignity of that woman can never be replaced again! i was aware of the bill when i watched XXX (ABS-CBN show) last weekend which featured scandals involving teenagers... what made it worst was the taping of rape scenes--- it really flared me up!
this bill MUST be approved ASAP!
