These photos are part of a work in progress, a series of permanent performances called “Ballerina in Red”, created by Alessandra Colasanti, a performance artist from Brazil. Ballerina in red is a hybrid character, a mix of ballerina, intellectual and bohemian mad¬cap, mistress of artists like Picasso, Diaglev, Elvis Presley, Charles Aznavour, John Cage and Woody Allen, founder of the Frankfurt School, Imperial Moscow Ballet’s prima ballerina, Duchamp’s muse, official seller of Paris air, and Collège de France scholar. Her “empty enigma” thesis, the biggest presence of the absence of all times, TAKES the paradox’s paroxism TO THE last consequences.A blasé ballerina, a mythomaniac dandy, a debauched PhD, or, like her fans usually say, “just charismatic”.
