I managed to get a press pass for the 2009 parade and as a result had an elevated platform, in the form of an open top double-deck bus, from which to view the Parade here in Dublin. The weather was beautiful, sunny and no rain (proof of global warming). The organisers claimed that it was the biggest parade ever but I cannot agree as the parade only lasted 90 minutes and there was a very obvious reduction in the number of North American visitors (possibly because Dublin has become very expensive).

Are you still uploading the Photos?

Hello,
I had to upload them via a second account as my own account appears to be broken.

A cunning workaround! I see, though, that in your member settings the Flickr section is blank. The item to its right is active, but only feeds the presence stream on your channel page. It's a bit confusing, in my opinion.

Fantastic photos! I'm glad the weather was so warm, even if it was to do with global warming!

im just glad i dont have to listen to any more wank dribble irish music, till christmas at least.

There is a type of Irish music that is a bit annoying but I am a bit surprised that Irish music would be a problem for you in the UK as you are not inclined to get too excited about St. Patrick's day. The solution is to designate St. George's Day as a public holiday in England, a St. David's day holiday for Wales ( as the Scots make a big deal about New Year I assume that they might not be keen on a St. Andrew's day). I hope that I got the saints right

Wow, what a colourful multi-cultural parade! Sure has come a long way since my time in Dublin ... when we all tried to ignore it.
I imagine the time of St. Patrick's tenure in Ireland was colourful and multi-cultural too.
