At a Nova Scotia school in the Annapolis Valley, two senior high students stood up for a boy who was harrassed on the first day of school because he wore a pink T-shirt. They gathered friends and all wore pink shirts the following day to show their support and to stand up to the bullies. The word got out and the movement has spread to numerous schools who declared a Friday the day to wear pink. Our day was today! Our A.B.LE (Anti-bullying League) students made over 150 pink ribbon corsages for those who didn't own pink clothing. It was awesome!

Following a movement begun in several high schools thoughout Nova Scotia, students at Hants East Rural High declared one day "Anti-Bullying Day" and encouraged everyone to wear pink to stand up against bullying. A small group of students made about 300 ribbon pins and passed them out to everyone who wanted to sign the anti-bullying pledge. The day was a huge success and will be repeated annually on the second Thursday of every school year.
