At Disney's D23 Fan Expo in Anaheim, California today, Walt Disney announced that the fourth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, will feature Johnny Depp, Miley Cyrus, John Travolta, and Tim Burton and will storm theaters summer of 2011.
Johnny Depp, who made a surprise appearance in gliding replica of the Black Pearl pirate ship, will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. The fourth film is expected to follow sparrow's adventure to find the Foutain of Youth, which was a treasure revealed at the conclusion of the third film.
"I'm looking for a talking Frog," Depp mumbled to the crowd of 5,000 or so fans assembled for the expo. "I like frogs."
While some people are wondering what "On Stranger Tides" means, a pirate novel with the same title has been noticed, though it remains unknown as to whether the novel is related to the upcoming film. Here is the synopsis of the novel:
Puppeteer John Chandagnac, bound for Jamaica to recover stolen money from his uncle, becomes Jack Shandy after pirates attack his ship and force him to join their crew. Shandy’s struggle to accept his new life grounds the story for readers, even as Blackbeard and vodun magicians whisk everyone away to dreamlike lands where the Fountain of Youth itself awaits. The chaotic sea battles sing, though at times key events happen so quickly that they get lost in the shuffle as Jack tries to comprehend where he’s going and what’s at stake.
Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has pulled in more than $1 billion in domestic box office. Disney has previously said that their plan is for Pirates 4 to “hopefully be the first of another trilogy,” meaning that it would be shot by itself instead of back-to-back like the previous Pirates sequels. It still remains unknown as to who the director will be. The shooting will begin around spring 2010.

This Scource is Wrong, the D23 EXPO featured miley who sang, travolta who was promoting a DIFFERENT disney film i belive "old dogs", and Tim Burton who was promoting the other johnny depp film Alice in Wonderland

I'm a huge Johnny Depp fan and I'de just like to say that the 4th Pirate film is going to be just as good as the other 3...but for 1 thing I agree with Josh in what he said about Miley Cyrus I bet her daddy payed her way in2 getting in2 this film I think a Professional actress should have gotten the part, Miley's part would probably to play a saloon skank,would be nice to see Capt Jack wearing a diffently outfit and there be more romantic parts for him this time to show what a great kisser that Capt Jack can be;-) Sincerely A Capt Jack Fan Alma I Kelly of Bradford Pa.

I love all of the Pirates movies. I think Miley Cyrus will be a great addition to the film! While I am not a HUGE fan of hers, many people ARE including lots of little kids that will drag their parents to the movies just to see her. These are the same parents that will buy lots of toys related to this film. To all of you rude people out there...please remember that she is just 16 and has feelings! I think that you are just jealous because she is more successful at 16 than you will EVER be! Hating someone and wanting them to die just because you don't like there acting abilities just shows how ignorant you are! Grow up and get a LIFE! Rock on Miley.

I truly enjoy Johnny Depp movies he is just wonderful and(C. Jack) is so good looking. it makes me want to be a pirate! AND yes they do not need John T. or Miley in the move to make it any better; Depp is the only one they need to make this movie great like the others and I have all the priate movies and if there will be another I will buy this one also along with any others to come!!

Who cares about Miley Cyrus anyway? I pay about as much attention to her as I do to the so called "commander in chief" and his ugly, ugly wife. Johnny Depp is by far the most talented actor in Hollywood today, not to mention the sexiest, cutest guy around. He can carry any movie by himself, but Travolta might be OK. What about reprising Keith Richards role as Johnny's dad? His little cameo part was actually pretty good. By the way, I don't like Keira Knightly either. If you have ever seen her on a talk show, you can't understand a word she says.

miley is NOT going to be in it. she was just on stage when they announced it. disney's stupid but not THAT stupid. however i did hear a rumor that zac efron was gonna be in it....... that would suck.
