Pittsburgh's Light Up Night 2009 - Full Schedule

Friday, November 20 is Pittsburgh's annual Light Up Night.  Over 200,000 people are expected to attend tonight's festival, which marks the kick-off date to Pittsburgh's holiday season.  Plans for Light Up Night include live music, spectular fireworks, tree lighting ceremony, and Macy's holiday window display unveiling.

Full Schedule:

  • Noon: Annual Pittsburgh Creche dedication, U.S. Steel Tower Plaza

    5 p.m.: Bridge party with performances by No Bad Ju Ju and Johnny Angel and the Halos, Roberto Clemente Bridge

    Also at 5, Tribute of Light/Plaza Tree Lighting with performances by CLO Mini Stars, Al Dowe and Etta Cox Trio and The Stickers, PPG Plaza

    Fred Rogers statue on the North Side will be lit for the first time.

    5:45 p.m.: Tree lighting with Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, One Oxford Center

    6 p.m.: Winter Wonderland tents open

    6:15 p.m.: Macy's holiday window display unveiling.  A parade from Macy's to PPG Plaza will follow, Smithfield Street

    6:45 p.m.: Unity Tree lighting with magic show by David Lawrence, Highmark Place

    7:15 p.m.: Mt. Lebanon and Franklin Regional high school marching bands, PPG Plaza

    8 p.m.: Stage entertainment, followed by tree lighting and fireworks

    9:15 p.m.: Firework finale, Allegheny River and Andy Warhol Bridge.  Santa Spectacular at Point State Park.

The weather is supposed to be good, 44 degrees with a 10% chance of rain, or on the bright side an 90% chance of clear skies!  Good night to go to Pittsburgh Light Up Night 2009 and watch the city light up with holiday spirit.

What was the song that they played as everyone walked through the stage and the dancers were on the sides dancing to the tree?
