Placido Domingo, Song Zuying to relight the Flame of Love in

Last summer at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Spanish tenor Placido Domingo and Chinese soprano Song Zuying impressed audiences worldwide when they jointly sang the romantic and inspiring song The Flame of Love in the Bird's Nest. Without doubt, the performance was one of most memorable scenes for most people and perfectly ended the ever-happy event.

Nearly 14 months after the Olympics, Placido Domingo, also known as "a living opera legend", will join Song Zuying to recreate the scene in Chengdu, the Panda City on Sep 22, an extension of the vigor of the Olympic spirit onto the city. However, more than anything, this concert is Chengdu's prelude to the year celebrations of the founding of the PRC.
 
Flowers, bodyguards, red carpet, flash lamps, and Limo, marked Domingo's first appearance in Chengdu. The Spanish tenor arrived on the afternoon of Sep. 20 and said at a press conference that he is looking forward to the collaboration with Madam Song, and he will deliver a wonderful performance to the Chengdu audience.
 
The concert will be kicked off in Sichuan Gymnasium on the evening of Sep 22.

Hotel: Jinjiang Hotel (5-star). City-view suite: over 100 square meters with guest room, study, bedroom, and 2 bathrooms, overlooking the city views

Domingo & Song Zuying Collaboration

Domingo performed a duet with Chinese soprano Song Zuying at the 2008 Summer Olympic closing ceremony in Beijing. Doming was also the special guest in Song's 2009 concert at the Bird's Nest in Beijing.

Song Zuying

Song Zuying is one of the best young singers in China. Her music is extremely popular in China. And she had held many solo concert performances at prestige international venues such as Sydney Opera House in 2002, Vienna Golden Hall in 2004, and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2008. In 2006, her CD "The Diva Goes to the Movies: A Centennial Celebration of Chinese Film Song" was nominated for the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in the category of Best Classical Crossover Album. She also performs regularly on the Chinese Spring Festival Gala.
