The Police: Madison Sq Gdns - FINAL Concert Ever - 08_07_08
Legendary rock band The Police are done with the 152 shows staged as part of their comeback tour that started on May 28th of last year and ended yesterday in New York City. The tour was dubbed a success by the critics and the musicians themselves. Despite good reception, rumour has it that The Police won’t be coming back. At least for now. Vancouver had the honour of being the kick-off city for the tour that took The Police across dozens of countries on practically every continent.
Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland added some end-of-the-road silliness to their set list, walking off to Porky Pig's signature line, "That's all, folks."

Four songs in, Sting thanked his band mates for "your musicianship, your companionship, your friendship and your understanding."

"The real triumph of this tour is that we haven't strangled each other," he said. "Not to say it hasn't crossed my mind - or Andy's or Stewart's."

I wanted to see them but refused to pay the price of the tickets which were outrageous in my area. I mean these guys are good...but not THAT good.....I'd rather just pop in a c.d. and spend the money on 16yo scotch.

Now they can go back home and enjoy their money. Personally I dont like how some old groups are coming back for the sake of raking in the money. I'm not saying The Police are like that, but New Kids on the Block... ...THEYRE TOO OLD TO BE A BOY BAND! Also backstreet boys and their fifth attempt at a comeback.

I don't begrudge them making SOME money.... ... .. But some of the acts get a little crazy with pricing. At some point the ones that still have money should think about doing low price tours just for the fans....
