Police hit woman and than demands tape of it from citizen

There is a video on the internet (and youtube) of an Los Angeles county deputy sheriff hitting a woman on a bus, after she called him a big shot as he was trying to remove her from that bus. Whatever one thinks of this use of force, they must be very worried at the cop telling the passenger to give him the video he just taped, or that he would be arrested. Cops have erased tapes in the past when they have been in the wrong (there is one Maryland case that comes to mind) and I wouldn't be surprised if that is exactly what this cop was thinking at the time.

Indeed he asks the person who recorded this if he has a warrant (which violates any possible reasonable suspicion). The purprose of this question was of course hope the guy had a warrant and to make him to afraid to argue with the cop, giving the tape to the cop, who then probably proceeds to openly erase it in front of him or to "accidently" erase it later.

There are many good cops but sometimes cops make very bad decisions and than try (and often suceed) to use their authority to erase evidence against them. Indeed, this guy was probably lucky he wasn't arrested on some made up crime of videotaping the cop. Something that happens time and time again.
