The pop-Jazz Concert Jessica "Ambon Manise" Manuputty.
In the 1950s and 1960s Moluccan musicians made their mark together with artists from the Indo community. In the 1980s, bands like Massada were popular. Massada's hitsong 'Sajang e' is the only song in the Malay language to ever reach number one ranking in the Netherlands. One of the most talented artist to arise from the South Moluccan community in the Netherlands is the internationally acclaimed singer songwriter Daniel Sahuleka. Also in Indonesia many famous musicians are ethnic Moluccans. Like popstar Glenn Fredly who toured the Netherlands in 2008 and acknowledged Daniel Sahuleka as one of his main inspirations. In the 21st century new generations of South Moluccans in the Netherlands have chosen cultural ways to manifest their heritage and express themselves. Performing traditional Tifa music and Cakalele dance. But also by expressing themselves with contemporary music like Hiphop.
A few days ago, exactly on October 5, 2011 held at The Dutch cultural centre Erasmus Huis, Jakarta Indonesia has held a small concert and after the concert at the same time they do also held a fan meeting, press conference are quite successful. Although at the same time, The four personnel Westlife Concert are playing an exclusive at the Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta. The small Jazz Concert Jessica's was got attentions, too.
Jessica Manuputty (or cultures famous name is Jessica "Ambon Manise" Manuputty) is a singer and songwriter from South Moluccan musician an Indonesian-Dutch. When Jessica sings, her vocal presence is a present to her audience. Her many influencers vary from the finest of jazz like Ella Fitzgerald, to the respected Joni Mitchell and back to the popular Beyoncé Knowles. Akin to these extraordinary personalities, she has a soulful yet supple harmonic style. Her talent and determination have been her ultimate trigger to living her dream.
The kind of music a bit of soul, pop, funk and a tiny little bit of jazz - Originaire de Amsterdam, and She once studied psychology but later discovered that her love for singing was greater and decided to make the first step into the music maze. Jessica auditioned for the singing department of the Utrecht School of the Arts, from which she successfully graduated in the summer of 2008.
The surprise of most fans, she showed her respect to her country, Indonesia where was she born as South Moluccan woman an Indonesian-Dutch that's why she's singing the Indonesian song, FolkSong that came from Ambon, in Moluccas Islands (Maluku), and She was there not only for promoting her songs to fans but she told will always remember with pure soul as a woman born blood 'Ambon Manise' cultural.
In these abstract pieces, the words are Jessica Manuputty a special meet and greet fans before the concert is enough to make the hearts of fans love her more than that;
She said "I have a blood descendant of Ambon, but I was born and raised in the Netherlands, I can speak a little bahasa and I don't feel shy to make mistakes when speak in Bahasa Indonesia".
