Pop queen Madonna has 50th birthday

The Queen of Pop has reached half a century. For some this may be a sign that they should start slowing down and taking it easy - but not Madonna.

Even as her birthday is upon her, she is getting ready for her Sticky & Sweet tour.

The singer has the knack of constant reinvention, from cone corsets, her Sex book and kissing Britney Spears, to becoming a children's author and raising awareness about the devastating effects of HIV in Malawi.

In the Guiness World Record books, Madonna is the most successful female solo artist of all time; having sold around 120 million albums and 40 million singles. That combined total is more than any other female artist.

Her spokeswoman was keeping tight-lipped about exactly how Madonna will be celebrating, only confirming she was in the UK at the moment.

The Mirror recently reported that a lavish do at her country estate in Wiltshire may have to be postponed due to Madonna suffering a bad ankle.

Madonna has had some ups and downs in her life, but she always seems to come out on top. She's an icon in music, whether you are a fan or not.

amyjudd, I like this story. It's good stuff. Madonna Just gets better and better looking with age, I love the way she looks younger than most 30 year olds, it is an inspiration to us all!!. and besides all of that , I read someplace that age 50 is the new age 40. {smile}
