The Pope Blesses You with Social Networking

So, is social networking played out when the Vatican launches its own social media site, or does this mean the the Pontiff is getting with the times? This is not a rhetorical question, since it really happened: Pope2You dot net was launched yesterday. Pope2You dot com was already taken.

Either way, the site is basically a depository of other media applications, including a wiki, a Facebook application for sharing Pope Benedict quotes with your buddies, as well as an iPhone app for keeping up with church news... not to be confused with an earlier Vatican iPhone offering, iBreviary.

If it were an earlier pope, it'd be Bonifacebook. But it isn't.
