Porn pictures of George Bush and Paris Hilton go on show
Porn pictures of George Bush and Paris Hilton go on show at London's Lazarides Gallery from today the 26th September 2008.
Those hoping to see Bush and Hilton in compromising positions will however be disappointed as the pictures are portraits by artist Jonathan Yeo made using bits of images from various pornographic magazines as his palate.
The portrait of Paris Hilton has aleady been snapped up by Damien Hirst who is perhaps using some of the proceeds of the multi-million pound recent auction of works to add to his own growing collection of other artists works.
Paris Hilton has been immortalised in a portrait by British artist Jonathan Yeo, who compiled the picture using images from various pornographic magazines.

Jonathan Yeo's depiction of the hotel heiress - which has already been purchased by artist Damien Hirst for an undisclosed amount - is set to be displayed as part of a new gallery show 'The Outsiders' in London's Lazarides Gallery from today (26.09.08).
Yeo - who has previously painted portraits of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Britain's Prince Philip, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and media mogul Rupert Murdoch - also revealed he has offered the proceeds from the sale of a $20 poster of the portrait, which is entitled 'Paris, 2008', to the heiress.
Other pictures in the exhibition include Yeo's portrait of US President George W. Bush, also made using images from adult publications.

The porn part on the title I don't like it's degrading.

Hi CJ that's exactly what the portraits are made of "porn pictures" taken from pornographic magazines. I was wondering in what way, or who, the use of the word 'porn' to describe pornography degrades - if you could give me some other word/s that means the same and describes the pictures used I'll consider perhaps using them.
Yeo is a brilliant artist - his paintings in oil of Blair and others are wonderful - and his use of pornography cut from pornographic magazines to then construct portraits is I feel important work. Here's what the Independent said (note the use of the word pornography):
"Yeo appears to be throwing aside his mantle as the establishment painter of his day (he's created portraits of Tony Blair, Margaret Thatcher, Dennis Hopper and a litany of other celebrities) in favour of something that has more in common with the language of revolt. His brand new show of collages is made exclusively of pornographic imagery and grew out of a print he made of George Bush with cocks subtly inserted in his face. This exhibition of contorting nudes, and portraits of people like Hugh Hefner, is made exclusively out of cuttings from the cheapest magazines to be found on the top shelf. The results are surprizingly thought-provoking."

Thanks Zichi - the discussion around these topics where art is concerned is often only covered 'one way' - you raise intersting points - thanks again LF

Hilarious, but very artistic work on that pic. I wonder how the former president reacted to this?
