The Prince's Trust Rock Gala 2011
It's been working with disadvantaged youth since 1976, and on November 23 The Prince's Trust held its tenth Rock Gala bash at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Among the performers appearing this year were Queen, Jamie Cullun, Tom Chaplin, Pete Townshend, Kenney Jones, Joss Stone, Julian Lennon, Cerys Matthews, Boy George, Level 42's bass spanker supreme Mark King, Midge Ure, Alison Moyet, The Feeling and rising woman of the saxophone YolanDa Brown, Musical comic Tim Minchin will also be there.
Pete Townshend: "I'm delighted to be able to play at this year's concert, nearly 30 years after I helped George Martin organise the very first Rock Gala in 1982 with Kate Bush, Robert Plant, Phil Collins and others... The Trust has helped so many young people I have met. It has done so in simple, direct and practical ways. The Trust's music events have always played a vital role in educating the public about what The Trust does for young people every day."

Great cause. Unbelievable concert. Beautiful videos. It's too bad Adele wasn't well. Hopefully she'll be back soon. Princess Diana must be very proud of her boys and her daughter in law.

The Princes Trust charity was founded in 1976 by Charles, Prince of Wales to help young people. Training programmes, mentoring support and financial grants to build the confidence and motivation of disadvantaged young people are available to over 40,000 young people every year, with around 80% moving on to Employment, Education, Training, Running their own businesses or Volunteering. Although not anywhere near enough young people are catered for with over one in five 16- to 24-year-olds (1,163,000) not in education, employment or training – an increase of 137,000 on this time last year, the Princes trust goes some of the way to helping to ease the worrying unemployment situation.
