Prometheus: Ridley Scott's Alien Prequel

Ridley Scott is revisiting the world of the film that made him a household name: Alien. The trailer for Prometheus (not billed as an Alien prequel, but clearly part of the series' mythology) shows us a glimpse of a story that takes place before the 1979 sci-fi body-horror classic.

The Prometheus trailer is showing before The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (funny enough, Noomi Rapace, who stars in Prometheus, originated the role played by Rooney Mara in the Dragon Tattoo remake). If you aren't headed for the cinema soon, check out the Prometheus trailer below.

We see some Alien staples: the communication technology that barely works, the suspended-animation pods, the industrial-design space suits, the sweaty undershirts, the zero-gravity industrial OSHA nightmares. We also see the mysterious spaceship discovered by the crew of the Nostromo in the original.

Will we get to see a live version of the space jockey found by Lambert, Dallas and Kane in Alien?
