NP Rank:
Puffing Towards Legalization
Close to 1000 cannabis enthusiasts gathered at College Park in Toronto yesterday for a "Puff, Puff, Protest" calling for the legalization of marijuana.
Originally started in California in the early 1970's, the "Puff, Puff, Protest" or 420, is now considered the international day for the cannabis culture to display their right to smoke marijuana.
Hosted by The Toronto Hash Mob and overseen by a handful of security guards and a few Police Officers on bikes, the fun loving crowed of different sorts waved marijuana leaf flags, signs, and chanted, "We’re Here! We’re High! Get Used To It!
One participant dressed as a human bong while others dressed in costumes of pot leaves and danced and banged drums.
Dressed up or not they all had one thing in common. Whether it was a joint, a pipe, or a glass bong, they were all peacefully smoking, and thats what it's all about.
