Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) is set to start on 12 Jan 2012 to 19 Jan 2012,10th Pune International Film Festival, jointly organised by the Pune Film Foundation and the Governement of Maharashtra is to be held in Pune from the 12th to the 19th of January 2012. The films will be shown at ten screens across the city at six venues……. CityPride (Kothrud) – 3 screens, R-Deccan (Deccan Gymkhana) – 1 screen, CityPride Abhiruchi (Sinhgad Road) – 2 screens, ESquare ( Pune University Road) – 2 screens, Inox (Camp) – 1 screen and NFAI (Law College Road) – 1 screen. The Inauguration ceremony will be held at CityPride (Kothrud) Pune India,on the 12th of January 2012. Members of the film fraternity including Jury, Film Makers, Actors, Directors, Film Technicians and Critics from both India and all over the world will attend the festival.
More than 200 films from over 40 countries will be shown at the festival. The Pune International Film Festival will have films in various categories which will be competing for cash awards in the World Competition Section, Marathi Competition Section and the Whistling Woods International Student Competition Section. The Students will have two categories, live action and animation14 films are nominated in the World Competition section of the 10th Pune International Film Festival, two films from Germany, two from Poland, two from France,and remaining are from Russia, Bulgaria,Spain and India. PIFF also included 7 regional Marathi Films which are Deool,Shala,Jana Gana Mana, Balgandhrva,Ha Bharat Maza,Khali Doka var Pay and Mukti.18 Live Action Films are nominated in the Whistling Woods International Student Competition section of the 10th Pune International Film Festival,and 8 Animation Films are nominated in the Whistling Woods International Student Competition section of the 10th Pune International Film Festival.
