Québec Opened The International Cervantine Festival in Mexico

Con juegos pirotécnicos, como desde hace 37 años, dio inicio la noche de ayer el Festival Internacional Cervantino que tiene como invitados de honor a Quebec y al estado de Zacatecas.

Québec artists will feature prominently in the programming of the 37th edition of the Festival Internacional Cervantino de Guanajuato, running October 14 to November 1, 2009 in Mexico.

Acknowledged to be the Latin American artistic event, it is also one of the world's biggest multidisciplinary festivals. Featuring more than 2 000 artists from some thirty countries, it is a must-see artistic and cultural happening.

Québec's artistic delegation will include about twenty Québec troupes and artists, who will give forty or so performances. Cinematography and visual arts presentations are also scheduled.

The Cervantino International Festival is an annual event that
gathers musicians, artists, and performers from all over the world.
Each year, the festival features one of Mexico's states as well as one
or two foreign countries.
