The Queen’s Park Savannah in Trinidad became ground Zero for one the most memorable Reggae shows in Trinidad for 2008.
The event dubbed anthems of Love showcased a variety of artists who performed songs in keeping with the events theme of love and unity.
Reggae Crooner Sanchez had the capacity audience eating out of his hands as they sang almost every song word for word with such emotion.
The Lover Rock legend belted out hit after hit, soothing his audience with his silky smooth voice, he could do no wrong as he left the crowd wanting more.
Reggae royalty Queen Ifrica and Junior Kelly, kept the crowd alive in the wee hours of the morning last Saturday night as they blazed through their hits and gave the crowd a sample of some fresh ones in the making.
The event dubbed “Anthems Of Love”, drew words of unity, weed, and wisdom from the two popular roots dancehall giants who have kept the genre growing with clean, conscious lyrics that have won them new fans here in Trinidad and around the world.
Other highlights of the event included Queen Ifrica’s on stage collaboration with Trinidad’s youthful superstar Chocolate Allen. The young teen exuded a mature demeanor in her performance, leaving many impressed and satisfied that she has the potential to become one of Caribbean music’s future stars.
Former Toisis member, Duane Stephenson, also gave a strong set, and delivering his chart topping single “August Town”, in fine style.
Promoter for the events Farmar Production, expressed their satisfaction in the presentation, performances and production that will surely label the event, “Anthems Of Love”, one of Trinidad and Tobago most memorable events for 2008.
