Disney is hard at work on getting their upcoming Oz, the Great and Powerful further along. Right now a major casting choice has been made as Rachel Weisz, best known for her role in the Mummy, is tapped to play the Wicked Witch in the new movie.

The casting is still in talks, but chances look good for Weisz to take up the famous broom for the role. James Franco has already been confirmed as the Wizard in the new film, while rumor has it that Blake Lively will take on the role of the good witch. The movie is set to be directed by Sam Raimi of Spider-man fame.

The film is a prequel to the musical Wicked.
