Rachelle Lefevre Stunned about Victoria Recast: Fans Angry

It's no secret that Rachelle Lefevre's character Victoria in the Twilight saga has been recast by Summit Entertainment and they have given the role to Bryce Dallas Howard for the third movie (and Victoria's most important), Eclipse.

However, it seems like Rachelle was shocked by the decision as well, and fans are not only shocked, but really angry about it.

“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’” Rachelle said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria,” Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.”

She continued:

“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best,” she said.

Rachelle will appear in New Moon, out on November 20, but it seems like fans are not going to let this one go easily.

Rachelle Lefevre was, is, and will always be the iconic Victoria NOT  Bryce Dallas Howard! The fans want Rachelle. I hope <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Summit remembers who THEIR customers are…does Team Rachelle ring any bells?

This is ridiculous!! You can't just change actresses in the middle of the effin saga!! Rachelle IS Victoria! It's not even going to seem like the same character!! I think Summit should fix this f up and make this right, for the fans!!! Summit..suck it up, it's 10 days! You are going to screw up a HUGE saga over 10 damn days?!?!

This is total BS. they shouldnt replace rachelle ! i love her. i was looking forward to eclpise the most because its my fave book because of how sadistic victoria is and rachelle just IS victoria. she id a part of the twilight cast team and you shouldnt mess with what is utterly right. they make an amazing team and i am totally and completely shocked and hurt that you are choosing to remove rachelle and put in some chick who i bet doesnt even know how important this role is ! like its 10 days. not to sound rude or anything but SUCK IT UPP PRINCESS ! how is it a conflict. victoria doesnt even come till a feew chapters in and then the last like 6 chapters in the book. hello ! its not just about her. if you have to, do the scene where bella punches jacob in the face a billion times.  please i am asking from the bottom of my heart, please. put the role of victoria back into the hands of the woman that made her famous, and her name is Rachelle Lefevre, not bryce howard.
