Racism Accusations: Use Freely, Without Fear.

With Ontario's Chief Human Rights Commissioner Barbara Hall, racism to her it seems is only "Black and White". While true blue Racists wear their "White Pointy Hats" at media Rallies, Commissioner Hall seems to prefer to wear her Politically Correct Anti Racism "White Sombrero" style hat when looking for media attention while waving her "Lily White Wand" or should I say what seems to be at the drop of her "PC White Hat" seems to enjoy accusing entire towns of Racism, such as the Fishing village Wesport, Ontario (Pop 1,000) on the actions of a very few. Some out of towners who happen to be Canadians, but of Asian descent were challenged for illegal fishing (Fishing Season was over, hence no fishing licenses are issued by the town) in the Town of Westport, a fight ensued, resulting in bureaucrats and Commissioner Hall stating Racism. My view is No, not racism, apparently when people refuse to stop illegal fishing in a fishing town, fights sometime ensue between a few locals, regardless of your race. It was certainly not the entire towns population.
Toronto in recent years was overcome with Political correctness everything from banning Christmas Trees to Merry Christmas Greetings in Government buildings. The Reason? Racism! By not offending other cultures who may not share Canada's Judeo-Christian culture, it was thought best by bureaucrats to just ban anything even remotely perceived as a White Holiday, I say white, because the Politically Correct Barbara Hall seems to only see things Black and White! Suprising as it was Cultures, including Muslims went on record in the media saying "Who Cares" leading many to belive these PC Thugs are idiots.
My Final Thought
Some of you may remeber NDP's Hedy Fry's comments less than a decade ago, when Ms. Fry an member of parliament screamed bloody murder to the Federal Liberal Government and the Media, her fear mongering and racist labelling stating "Massive Cross Burnings in Prince George" are happening as we speak! This was found out to be totally untrue, surprising the residents of Prince George to as where her information came from.
Another fine example was Former Member of Parliament and Deputy Prime Minister Shelia Copps.
Ms. Copps took me to task verbally over my disagreement with her over racism charges against a small Quebec town. Upon my investigation, I was proven correct in my assessment, no apology was given to me by her. Thank God she is out of politics now. Shoot from the Hip People like her and Hedy who do not investigate the facts, we certainly do not need in Public life with easy media access.
Is it any wonder Toronto Crime is in the pickle it is in when even officers have to hesitate arresting someone who happens to be non white in the fear they may be labelled Racist by Idiotic Government Bureaucrats.
For sake of arguement, if you saw someone breaking into your neighbours home, would your first thought be....Hmmmm, they don't seem to be caucasian criminals, so I think it best I just do nothing and not call out or challenge them.
There is a time and place to call someone Racist, labelling an entire Town and Community whose viability relies on tourism and fishing is a disgrace, and to label them all racists when trying to prevent a criminal act by calling them racist without proof, this time is not one of them.
TORONTO -- Some residents of a small Eastern Ontario town believe their community has been unfairly labelled as racist by the province's highest-ranking human rights official.Chief Human Rights Commissioner Barbara Hall sent a letter to the local newspaper in Westport, weighing in on reports that Asian-Canadian fishermen from Toronto were assaulted and threatened in two incidents last month.
Area residents have made numerous complaints to a Ministry of Natural Resources tip line about non-locals -- mostly of Asian-Canadian backgrounds -- that they suspect are fishing illegally.
In an interview yesterday, Hall said that she has no information on whether these incidents involve Westport residents, but she's concerned about an emerging pattern of attacks on Chinese-Canadians.
"We need to look directly head on at whether these are racist-hate incidents," she said.
Conservative MPP Bob Runciman fired off an open letter to Hall in which he accuses her of assuming the assaults are "all about racism" without proper investigation.
"Your ill-considered comments are nothing less than an unsubstantiated smear against the good people of Westport and reflect badly on your office and the Ontario Human Rights Commission," he says.

Barry Artiste, good stuff. For some reason, the accusation of "racism" has now become an accepted kneejerk reaction when someone doesn't like a law, or someone else's perspective. And I don't know why people and institutions literally cower when the "r word" is used. Because people know that PC is trying to become the new reality, and no one wants to have the "r word" applied to them, some elements use the r word as a social and cultural club--and it works. But I suspect the tide may be turning on that.
Don't like someone's criminal behavior and say so? If you're the wrong race, and say something about criminal behavior, you're a racist. I frankly don't care if someone is white, black, brown, pumpkin, Martian, Jovian, or visiting from the Hollow Earth (as some would have us believe), bad behavior is bad behavior. And I think that soon the games re: the r word will be coming to an end. Here in the states, many are getting fed up with it.
I recall one time when people were trying to say that describing a criminal suspect as black, or Hispanic, etc. etc was racist. Hel-lo? Right. Ah huh. What did the suspect look like? Well, it was a guy. No, we can't say what he looks like, because that's the r word. That little attempt to coerce conformity according to some rabid PC notions didn't fly.

So true, and thanks PEP for the Flag. When a criminal is on the loose, Police and media have a responsibility to the public taxpayers to give us the most complete description of the individual for our safety as well as using us as their eyes and ears. Here in Vancouver if a suspect or criminal act has been committed we are pretty good at getting all the details from informed sources, including a no holds barred description of ethinicity, clothing, right down to the persons tattoos or facial scars. Our public media officials do not fear retribution from the public on stating ethnicity. Vancouver is a mix of all ethnic people, all Canadian, as far as I am concerned, you're here, pay taxes, be law abiding, some may not have a paper saying they're Canadian yet, but that is a minor formality for now as far as I am concerned, as they say when in Rome, you're pretty much a Roman, join the club or get outta dodge. So I would like to think we British Columbia, lefty as most are really don't dwell on race, we at times are more religious racists at times regardless who you happen to be. My Girlfriend, a UBC Grad and a Canadian of Asian descent, her family came here with the railroad and goldrush in the 1800's, she visits the PRC to bond with relatives her family still maintain contact with. Though when shopping there and in Vancouver she can get pretty rednecky sometimes encounters shoppers FOTB from the PRC, with like all 4 generations of the same family all standing (for what seems to be an eternity) holding the same shopping cart handle not moving blocking aisle traffic while considering the purchas price comparision of a can of beans, soooo my girlfriend will pipe up and say something to them in Mandarin or Cantonese and the aisle parts like Moses and the Red Sea and quickly. Because I do not understand the Chinese language, I can pretty much sense she told them off, sooooooo, sometimes I have to reel her in and swat her white pointy hat off her head. Why? Because I am true believer in Karma, what goes around, comes around.
You should see the fun we have when trying to cross into the US border, we get flagged every time, though when I travel alone, it is all smiles, air kisses, banners, balloons and party favours for me from US Border guards. Who says US Racial profiling is dead? Since my Girlfriend reads my columns, I think I may have to keep one eye open in bed tonight. Remember what I said about Karma?
