Radiohead To Perform Occupy Wall Street Concert Sep 30, 2011?
There Are Reports That Radiohead Will Play a Free Occupy Wall Street Concert in New York on Friday, September 30, 2011
New York, at least certain parts of it, has been buzzing about two things as of late: the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protests and the fact that Radiohead is in town to play a couple of shows.
Now there are reports that Radiohead will play a free concert for the Occupy Wall Street protesters. Gawker has reported that Radiohead will play a free show at the Occupy Wall Street campsite Lower Manhattan's Zuccotti Park. The Occupy Wall Street concert is believed to be scheduled for around 4 pm on Friday, September 30, 2011.
[Update: The Radiohead show for Occupy Wall Street was a hoax. No Radiohead in Zuccotti Park]
Radiohead wouldn't be the first entertainer to try to bring attention to the Occupy Wall Street protests. Actress Susan Sarandon and others have been involved with the protests.
UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Radiohead will not be performing at Occupy Wall Street.
