Update: Randy Quaid and Evi Quaid Arrested On Outstanding Warrants
It seems Rany Quid and his wife Evin were arrested in the upscale Kerrisdale neighborhood in Vancouver but the police are not confirming their identity. Here is a transcript of a police media release
On October 20th at 2:45 p.m. Vancouver Police were called for assistance near W.41stAvenue and Yew Street. While checking the identity of a man and a woman at that location, they learned that the two were wanted on outstanding warrants from the United States.
The Canada Border Services Agency was contacted and attended to make the arrests. The pair were held for CBSA in the Vancouver Jail and they were turned over to Canada Border Services Agency this morning at 10:30.
As there are no Canadian charges or offences committed, the names of the two individuals cannot be released.
Randy and Evi Quaid can't stay out of jail. CBC news is reporting that Randy and Evi Quaid were picked up at the Canadian border for alleged immigration violations.
Exactly what those violations are has yet to be determined. Randy and Evi Quaid are appearing at a federal court that deals with immigration issues in downtown Vancouver, Friday afternoon.
This is not the first time the Quaids have run afoul of the law.
The couple is facing felony burglary charges and misdemeanour counts in the U.S. for allegedly moving back into and vandalizing a home they once owned in Santa Barbara, Calif. Both are wanted on $50,000 bench warrants issued by a judge in Santa Barbara.
