This is just breaking.

I will look for further

details.

An Atlanta rapper was fatally shot at the Beverly Center on Monday afternoon, causing mall diners to dive for cover and sparking a police dragnet for suspects.

The shooting occurred around 3:10 p.m. in the parking structure of the popular Westside mall. Dolla, a rapper whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head while he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, were waiting in the valet area, according to Dolla's publicist, Sue Vannasing. A friend who was with the rappers at the Beverly Center as well as a Los Angeles Police Department source also confirmed his identity to The Times.

Some background from

Wikipedia.

Roderick Anthony Burton II (November 25, 1987[1] - May 18, 2009) better known by his stage name Dolla, was an American rapper. He made his debut with the single "Who the ---- Is That?". His song, "Feelin' Myself", is featured on the Step Up soundtrack. The song "Feelin' Myself," was a "bite" of the Mac Dre song of the same name released while Dolla was in the lunch line at his local middle school.[2] He also was a member of the Hip hop group Da Razkalz Cru,

I agree.  It is sad and a loss for many fans in addition to his family.

When young people realize that rap is just what is it and that it is a God given talent to be a poet  they will then realize that it is not an art to beef about.... but, rather to expree the thought that comes from the young minds. May God be with the family and all that care....One

not being a fan of (C)rap.....oops, let me be politically correct and say rap, I can't see where it's an art form when so many rap songs are about violence and that the same violence permiates the industry. It's not a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, it's a matter of being in the wrong business if you can't keep from getting shot.

I truly don't know him but still violence is violence and I condemn the shooting for whatever cause it was. He was too young to die. Its strange that in the place where democracy is celebrated people can just walk to you and put a bullet in your head. I prefer dictatorship or at least partial democracy at least they have the decency of arresting you before they kill you.
