The real reason behind The Beatles break-up has always been a mystery, but new leaked John Lennon tapes that have been found and obtained by Rolling Stones Magazine, may reveal some secrets to the demise of what most call the most popular band of all time.

Interviews with a very angry John Lennon from the 1970s with Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner, reveal what could be a darker side to the band's success.

The 1970 tapes have also been released to Entertainment Tonight, which aired Lennon's comments on Wednesday.

Lennon can be heard telling Wenner, "We sold out... and I felt sick."

He also takes aim at longtime songwriting partner Paul McCartney, stating, "We got fed up with being sidemen for Paul."

Lennon says the break-up was a long time in the making, and spoke angrily about his bandmates' hatred for his wife.

"They despised her... It seemed I had to be happily married to them or Yoko, and I chose Yoko."

Lennon even seems to suggest that George Harrison, long thought of as the most peaceful member, was the one who caused the biggest upset between Lennon and the rest of the band over Yoko Ono.

He states, "George insulted her right to her face and I didn't hit him, I don't know why. Ringo (Starr) was alright but the other two really gave it to us. I'll never forgive 'em."

More will be revealed in the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone Magazine.
