Red Bull Jesus Commercial Pulled after Outcry

Was it inevitable for the "Red Bull Gives You Wings" ad campaign to include Jesus walking on water? Well, it happened.

The controversial part of the Red Bull Jesus commercial was not that Jesus is depicted as a white South African, but that his walking on water is treated as something other than supernatural.

Bored while fishing with friends, Jesus hops out of the (cartoon) boat and walks across the water. One of his friends/disciples turns to the other and says, "I think he had a Red Bull. You know it gives him wings."

Jesus replies, "It's not a miracle. You just have to know where the stepping stones are."

The Jesus ran on M-Net on March 12, and received around 100 complaints in the first day. M-Net pulled the ad. Of course, you can still see the Red Bull Jesus commercial online; for example, in the video player below.

This Axe ad was also pulled after complaints from South African Christians.
