Amanda Seyfried (Veronica Mars, Jennifer's Body, Dear John) will star in an upcoming film adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood. Titled The Girl with the Red Riding Hood, the new adaptation promises to appeal to Twilight fans by taking on a gothic and romantic twist.

The Girl with the Red Riding Hood will be directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who directed Twilight. Betting that the wolf is re-imagined as a werewolf would would have a fairly high chance of paying off.

Whether or not the werewolf in question ends up dressing up as Red Riding Hood's grandmother... another discussion for another day.
