There’s no doubt her personal life is in utter turmoil as of late, but at least Kristen Stewart has something to look forward to career-wise.

The “Adventureland” actress has reportedly signed on to play the lead role in the forthcoming drama “Lie Down in Darkness.”

Based on the William Styron novel from 1951, the flick will be about a dysfunctional family living in Virginia, and Kristen will play a woman named Peyton Loftis.

Loftis is said to be the psychologically fragile daughter of a troubled couple, so the gig will likely be a new challenge for the “Twilight Saga” star.

In related news, despite a messy break-up, it turns out all is not lost between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson... yet.

According to People, the "Twilight" co-stars began talking again last weekend after the 22-year-old actress sent a boatload of tearful texts and calls his way.

Although the brunette beauty has resorted to begging, the 26-year-old actor isn’t budging and a source adds, "Rob just isn't going to be able to get beyond the cheating - one time or not.”

Robert apparently cringed when reading Stewart’s public apology and a source revealed to Us Weekly that, "He read it online and was livid that Kristen is out there giving a statement and he's the last person to know about it.”

"Rob said he suspected something because Kristen is normally very relaxed about her phone…and she was being really weird lately," an unidentified confidante told the publication. "She reassured him nothing was going on. …He's disgusted because he had a feeling about this director."

With the release of their "Twilight Saga" on the horizon, the estranged couple is under pressure to resolve their relationship.

"I'm not sure they're going to be able to work through this," a source close to Kristen told People, "but Rob is all that matters to Kristen right now. She loves him so much. She'd do anything to be able to get through this and be together."
