We are only a week into 2009 and it is shaping up to be a huge one on the live music scene. With current artists touring the globe through the summer, we are seeing a trend of past artists and bands getting back out on the road.

2008 was the year of the 90’s reunions. With The Spice Girls and New Kids on the Block leading the way, reunions proved to be a viable way to re-ignite sales and generate some decent revenue from tours. Both the NKOTB (yeah, I wrote it) and Spice Girls world tours were sold out in advance and the album releases that coincided with the tours sold rather well.

This year is shaping up to be the year of the 70’s reunion. To name a few The Yardbirds, The Grateful Dead, Willie Nelson, The Allman Brothers and Yes are all on tour in 2009. Mind you, some of the founding and original members of the bands have passed away and the line-ups aren’t quite the same as the group that recorded all the old LPs, but the passion will still be there.

All tours are being handled through Ticketmaster, so head HERE to find out if the reunions are going to be near you this year and buy some tickets.
